Welcome New Waldo County Bounty Program Manager, Laura Sheinkopf

Laura Sheinkopf officially took on the role of Program Manager at Waldo County Bounty in May 2022.

Waldo County Bounty (WCB) is excited to announce Laura Sheinkopf will serve as its first Program Manager. Laura will manage Waldo County Bounty’s core Farm-to-Pantry, Gleaning, and Gardening Programs and track progress toward fulfilling its mission to improve access to locally-grown foods for people experiencing food insecurity in Waldo County, Maine. Additionally, she will work closely with the WCB Board to continue to deepen connectivity among the network of partners in the local hunger relief sector and food system.

 

“We are delighted to have found such a talented person with strong community connections for the position,” said Mary Leaming, Board Chair of Waldo County Bounty. “Laura brings significant program management experience, and we believe she will successfully build upon the programming that we have developed since our founding two years ago.”

 

Over the coming year, Laura will develop and implement programming in line with WCB priorities. She will help grow its volunteer opportunities and engagement, orchestrate community events, and enhance collaboration with other social service agencies as well as community garden programs.

 

With a background in program design and education, Laura has experience working in schools, nonprofit social service agencies, and as a community organizer advocating for environmental justice. She most recently served as Education Director at Waterfall Arts. Laura is an avid boater and gardener who enjoys spending time in nature, and she pursues these interests as a volunteer with numerous organizations in Waldo County.
